We’ve been lucky with Peruvian Cup of Excellence lots this year, and this is another contender who entered her coffee for the first time last year. Aina Uscamayta’s farm sits at 1550 masl in Junin, widely known as the central coffee region in the high jungle; one of the most culturally diverse areas within Peru with more than 5 Amazonian ethnic groups - each with a different language and history.
Whilst her coffee wasn’t selected for the final round of CoE, we still think she’s a winner, and the experience only made her want to push harder for quality. This cup is a true Gesha, with notes of green tea, citrus, and dried apricot to give it that something sweet and special.
It’s also the last of our Peru Gesha lots, and we think we’ve saved a pretty good one for last.
