Finca Momoto is named after a beautiful and enigmatic bird known as Momoto in Panama. Its English name is Motmot, and the blue crown species is indigenous to the area. Scientifically known as Momotus, Coeruliceps.
Finca Momoto is 8 hectares in size and located in an area known worldwide for some of the best-produced coffee in the world, the town of Santa Clara, Chiriqui, Panama.
Finca Momoto is blessed by the uniqueness of its terroir. The area’s microclimate provides high levels of precipitation yearly (approximately 3000 mm). It is located at 1500 - 1900 meters above sea level in a mountain range that receives cool air from the Trade Winds coming from the Caribbean Ocean while receiving an optimum amount of sun due to a large valley facing the Pacific Ocean south of the farm. Its ecosystem provides a biodiversity that favour the accumulation of excellent soil that includes an exuberant flora and fauna which is a constant inspiration to work in harmony with the natural environment.
