As a first-generation coffee producer, Cristina Hernandez Diaz is doing things right; better wages and higher work standards for pickers equals higher quality sweeps of the farm and that’s evident in the cup. Achieving the American dream, Cristina was able to move to the US to make money and return home to buy land with her wife, naming their farm Yulchen which means “Between the Stones,” in the native language Popti. A cooler climate between the stones means a better climate for coffee as well as local wildlife.
This washed and sundried mix of Catuai and Caturra is a smooth, easy going coffee with notes of red apple, cane sugar, and stone fruit. Lekker man!
