Coming from the Jimma Zone is this JARC (Jimma Agricultural Research Centre) 74110 varietal, first developed for its resistance to coffee berry disease, and now also known for its exceptional cup quality. Grown by Nesru Aba Nura and her husband Mensur Aba Hika, they belong to the Tokuma group of farmers based in the Jimma Zone’s Kota Kebele, sitting at a hefty 1950 - 2000 masl.
Our importer for this coffee, Osito, pride themselves on working deeper not wider with farmers, and through a years-long relationship with Nesru Aba Nura they’ve been able to help increase demand for her coffee, improving her livelihood as well as that of the rest of the Tokuma farmers.
This naturally processed cup tastes like raspberry jam and mango, with a creamy aftertaste - which is a pretty good combo for a natural Ethiopian.
